The patient – Snezhana, came to our studio with the desire to treat a dental cyst, correct a gummy smile and improve the appearance, colour and arrangement of the teeth. After the preliminary examination, clinical and laboratory testing, we found that the molar with the cyst was in a very bad condition and should be extracted. In addition, the patient had a lot of dead granuloma (purulent sac) teeth that needed treatment. All teeth were with abnormal wearing and the front ones were crowded and too small for her smile. Her two right maxillary molars were missing.
After fabricating a study model and a wax-up, we discussed it with the patient and decided to restore all natural teeth with porcelain veneers, and the teeth under the old bridges to be covered with porcelain crowns. Into the sites of the missing teeth we placed three implants (by Dr. Presiyan Krastev), which were successfully covered with all-ceramic crowns. Before that we retreated all dead teeth.
Considering the patient’s wish, we achieved the final aesthetics of her smile by choosing veneers with a significantly whiter, but natural colour.
The entire treatment lasted about two years due to the severe condition of the teeth and the need for complicated root treatments and bone augmentations (placing bone grafting material for the implants).
