The patient came to the clinic with the sole desire to improve her smile. She had chosen porcelain veneers because she believed this was the best solution for her.
She told us that she has a good job and has achieved a great deal in her career and in her life. However, she has always been self-conscious about smiling because she doesn’t like her smile. Over the years, this has led to difficulties in communicating at work. She explained that in the country where she lives, this is a serious problem for her, and she had undertaken extensive research into where she could achieve a fantastic yet, at the same time, subtle (as she put it) result. She had returned to Bulgaria for two weeks and contacted us asking for our help.
The situation was serious. During the examination, we found that, in addition to exposed tooth necks (gallery 2), there were several old fillings with caries. We also discovered a dead tooth with a granuloma, which required preliminary root canal treatment. Thanks to the digital technologies in our laboratory, we were able to prepare a diagnostic wax-up and create a model within a few days so that she could approve the treatment plan.
In a single day, we treated the cavities and carried out root canal treatment. Finally, using CAD/CAM technology, our dental technicians fabricated eight E.max porcelain veneers (gallery 5). We also fitted two new lithium disilicate crowns to replace the old metal-ceramic crowns. As the patient also wanted a change in the colour of her teeth, she chose shade B1 on the Vita scale. The whitest shade on the European tooth colour scale. In our view, this shade is white, yet at the same time it creates a natural appearance for the veneers in the mouth. Just as she wanted.
And so, within 8 working days, the patient was smiling broadly and without any hesitation.
