I like my wife and I know that she is the most wonderful person on earth. However, I have always wanted to make a small change to her smile. Therefore, after a long period of discussion, we proceeded to action. First, I treated all problematic teeth with cavities and granuloma. Then we placed braces to align the teeth. My aim was to achieve a maximum aesthetic result without having to drill the healthy part of the teeth. We took off the braces after 12 months and I made a mock-up in the mouth to decide exactly how the teeth will look like- their shape, size and colour. This also helped me to determine how many teeth in her smile I have to correct. After discussing all this with the patient and with the dental technician (Evgeni Fotinov) I proceeded to work- teeth whitening for a whiter base, making wax-ups in the clinic and Evgeni’s difficult task to achieve the preliminary set goals and to recreate an absolute imitation of nature. 6 porcelain veneers (‘lumineers’) were made with thickness of 100-200 microns (0.1-0.2mm). This can be done by very few dental technicians in the world, for which I am personally very thankful to him. To make the transition to her natural teeth in her smile less visible, I made two veneers (on the left and right first premolars), with the help of CEREC, with thickness 100-300 microns again without tooth drilling.
I fixed the manual and CAD/CAM lumineers with adhesive and the result was visible.
My wife smiles broadly again and has a new self-esteem.
